There’s a chill in the air and people are digging out their long pants and jackets. It can only mean that Fall is here! Some relish the news, while some hiss at the impending cooling temperatures. We want to talk about the seasons and our favorite things about each one (we’d love to hear from you too, leave a comment!).

This week’s seasonal selection comes from Marketing Director, Jacob Wilder.

What is your favorite season and why?

It is for sure Fall. I like the cooler weather, the end of lawn care, and the beginning of great Fall activities. Football season begins so there’s middle school games on Thursday, high school football on Fridays, college football on Saturday, and NFL football on Thursday, Sunday, and Monday. There’s Halloween parties, hayrides, corn mazes, and bonfires. Plus you get Halloween and Thanksgiving so that’s great.

What is your idea of summer fun?

I enjoy going swimming. That’s my favorite activity for sure. I like finding swimming holes around the area in rivers and lakes.

What is your favorite fall activity?

I really enjoy watching football. I played four years in high school and I’ve loved the game ever since. I enjoy going and watching my cousin play in middle school football and watching my old high school team with Shelley. I also enjoy going to corn mazes. Unfortunately, my local corn maze has closed, so I need to find a new place to go.

What is your favorite winter activity?

Sledding. Sledding is great! We have a huge hill on the back of our property that allows for long and fast sled runs. It always ends up in someone getting dinged up because the hill is so steep, crashes inevitably happen and when you’re going that fast down something so steep, those crashes are epic.

What is your favorite spring activity?

I don’t really have a spring specific activity. I do like to get out and go on some hikes after the winter.

What is your favorite holiday and why?

Christmas. I really like celebrating the birth of Jesus and getting family and friends together. We have family come in and I get to hang out with my cousins. Our family has at least three get-togethers and they’re all always a good time.
